breed of dogs .They're compact active and bright-eyed dogs with an endless
curiosity and a sense that they're the cutest thing around.
The Pomeranian also known as German dwarf Spitz is one of
the most popular dog breeds in the world for their small size and cute appearance.
These dogs have been lovingly nicknamed the little dog who
thinks he can for being small but acting big.

History
The Pomeranian was born in an ancient Dutch he called
Pomerania situated between Germany and Poland unlike the present Pomeranian the
first specimens were a much larger size basically they were used as livestock dogs
they controlled sheep cattle and deer.
Pomeranian came from large working dogs from the arctic
regions commonly known as the wool Spitz or Spitz type and are considered to
have descended from the German spits.
Breed is said to have acquired its named after Pomeranian an
area in northern Poland and Germany the place is credited with the breeding that
led to the original Pomeranian type dog
They slowly spread to Europe and then across the Atlantic
The AKC (American kennel club) registered the first Pomeranian
in 1888 and recognized the breed in 1900.
The England’s royal family was involved in their revolution in
1767 queen Charlotte of England brought two Pomeranian named phoebe and
mercury to England paintings of the dogs depicted them as being much larger
than the modern breed reportedly weighing about 30 to 50 pounds.
Queen Charlotte’s granddaughter queen Victoria was also a Pomeranian
enthusiast. One of her favorite dogs was a small red sable Pomeranian probably
named Windsor’s Marco.
Marco was reported to weigh only 12 pounds and was exhibited
in 1891 causing the smaller Pomeranian to become immediately popular.
During Queen Victoria’s lifetime the size of the breed dropped
by a reported 50 percent.

Personality
Contrary to their small stature Pomeranian like to think
that they're a lot bigger than they actually are.
They have a take charge temperament and are not afraid of strangers
or other animals
Pomeranian can get aggressive with other dogs and humans to
try to prove themselves.

They're better off as indoor dogs under high heat and
humidity your Pomeranian can get overheated and get a heat stroke when outside

delicate dogs and they prefer the company of adults or older kids.

Training
Training them can be a handful although, smart Pomeranians
tend to be headstrong at times this can make them tough to train especially
with house training.
They could be stubborn about going outside to potty especially
if it's rainy or cold.
Clicker training with positive reinforcement and create training
is recommended for your Pomeranian and remember that

They're prone to excess barking despite their small size Pomeranians
come with a loud bark they'll bark at anything out of the ordinary and will

essential to teach your pom when to stop barking or it can get excessive start
early and be consistent to teach them the quiet command.
Grooming
Pomeranian have a thick
standout double coat a soft dense and fluffy undercoat and a harsh top coat
Males shed their undercoats once a year but females shed
when they're in season after they deliver a litter and when they're stressed.
Brush and comb your Pomeranian at least
twice weekly to distribute skin oils and keep the code healthy you can bathe
them as often as you like whether daily or monthly.

Tiny dogs often have big health problems and the Pomeranian is
no exception.
