Boxer
Loyal, friendly, upbeat and super attractive boxers are one
of most popular dog breeds they are bright and alert and act silly sometimes
but are very courageous while they were originally bred to be hunting dogs.
Boxers are still classified as working dogs and loving companions a boxer can stand
as high as 25 inches at the shoulder and weigh up to 70 pounds as part of the
milazzo group these solidly built large dogs live about 10 to 12 years.
Number one
Their history
Boxers are a part of the milazzo dog group that was
developed in Germany in the late 19th century they're originated from a now
extinct dog Bullen Weiser and Bulldogs.
The Bullen Weiser had been working as a hunting dog for centuries
but in later year’s faster dogs were favored as hunting companions and a smaller
bull and Weiser was bred.
This breed is generally accepted as a direct ancestor of modern
boxers.
Boxers were then introduced to other parts of Europe in the
late 19th century and in the United States around the 20th century.
The first boxer was registered in the American Kennel Club
in 1904 this breed co-opted for military work in the First World War and after
a second world war the boxer became popular worldwide as returning soldiers
started taking them home.
Number two
Their name supposedly originates from their behavior
The breed has a tendency to play by standing on its hind legs and boxing with its front paws apparently giving it the name boxer.
However this theory has been set to be the least plausible
the name of the breed could also be simply due to the names of the very first
unknown specimens of the breed or the most commonly used names at the time
there is however no concrete proof to say why the breed is called so.
Number three
They are great family dogs
Despite their history of hunting and dog fighting boxers are
gentle and they have low aggressive tendencies they love kids and are great
play mates for older children as well once trained and socialized.
They're known to get well along with kids as they are
patient and spirited with children but also very protective as an instinctive
Guardian.
Boxers are very loayal to their family and they are
especially a loyal to children.
They're great to adopt as family dogs so if you're looking
for a family friendly pooch this dog might just be the one for you.
Number four
They have one of the longest puppy hoods
Boxers take a long time to mature and it may be three to four
years before your boxer is no longer a puppy they even act like a high-spirited
pup for several years but as slowly as they mature they did grow quickly.
The Boxers are willing growing at sixteen months however he
will still be a small notorious pup though
Number five
In contrast to their size they're not outdoor dogs
Boxers are large in size however their short nose and hair make
them a little uncomfortable in hot and cold weather being exposed to outside
temperatures for an extended time is not healthy for them as the structure of
this breed does not allow for optimum body cooling so they do need to be kept
as house dogs unless you live in an area with absolute perfect weather outdoor
living is not for a boxer.
Number six
They need minimal grooming
The boxers short and signee coat requires very little
grooming they're even known to groom themselves just like cats do.
Brushing once or twice a week should keep them looking at
their best they also tend to be clean only needing a bath once in a while
Their nails should be trimmed at least once or twice a month
and to prevent tartar and bacterial build-up.
Their teeth should be brushed often or daily if possible.
If you are hoping to adopt a boxer begin accustoming them to
be brushed and examined when there are puppies and make grooming a fun and
filled experience filled with praise and reward this leads to easy fat exams
and other handling and they become adults.
Number 7
They're very playful and super energetic
Boxers are highly energetic dogs and they need ample
exercise every day on leash or in a securely fenced area.
Do not let your boxer run loose though because they spend a
lot of time jumping and leaping which might come as a hassle for you at times
however if you are an energetic and lively person boxers will be a great match
for you.
Plan on playing with them or walking them at least twice a
day for half an hour each giving your boxer plenty of daily exercise is also the
best way to ensure behavior because a tired boxer is a good boxer.
Number eight
You must train them
Early training is essential for boxers they're big and
strong enough to accidentally knock over and hurt people if they don't know how
to control their accents start training them early using a firm and fair
training method and a lot of motivation to make them take training seriously remember
to praise them play with them and reward them with food.
Early socialization and puppy training classes are vital….and
remember patience is the key when it comes to house training yourboxer.

breeds are prone to some health conditions not all boxers will get sick but it
